39 Cocktail Napkin Sketching Contest The ‘Social Gathering’ at the 2013 AIA Montana Annual Fall Confer- ence in September was the perfect setting for conducting a ‘cocktail napkin sketching contest’ to benefit the AIA Montana and Friends Endowment fund with the MSU School of Architecture. The group included architects, students, faculty, speakers, and supporters of the profession at the Bridger Brewing Company after attending a lecture by Byoung Soo Cho, AIA. Add to this some great pizza, a beverage or two, — for a small price — a cocktail napkin – and this group went to work creating ink pen sketches. These sketches were put on display and the group voted this as their ‘favorite.’ This sketch was by Richard W. Smith, AIA of Red Horse Art & Architecture in White- fish, Montana.
