8 THE MONTANA ARCHITECT | 2014 | www.aia-mt.org D uring the past year, Cheever Hall and the MSU School of Architecture continue to see a lot of exciting developments. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Susanne Cowan joined our faculty to teach architectural history. Susanne previously taught at Washington University and Syracuse Uni- versity and now teaches our undergraduate architectural history sequence. In addition, Susanne currently offers a graduate seminar titled “Boom Town, Bust Town” focusing upon cities throughout the Midwest and Western United States. With a background in landscape, architecture and urbanism, her research focuses on the relationship between urban design and the social conditions of cities, particularly regarding participatory democracy as a method for making city planning and policy decision. Similarly, the School is fortunate to have John McCreery join our faculty as a visiting faculty member. John previously taught at Ball State University and has been in private practice in Ohio for the last twenty years. John is teaching the Environmental Controls Systems courses in our undergraduate program and first year design.
