21 mechanical systems integrate with the larger district energy system enabling Jabs Hall to harvest excess heat from adjacent lab build- ings. MSU anticipates that this efficient model will create an annual savings of 41 percent in energy costs. By making the work of students, faculty and staff visible at Jabs Hall, MSU and Comma-Q hope to encourage learning across all disciplines in a visually stunning collaboration space. By integrating sustainable design, MSU and Comma-Q exceed the College’s LEED Silver requirement, achieving a LEED Gold Certification. The de- sign’s expressive elevations, locally-sourced materials, and innovative elements reflect the landscape and uphold the community’s values. To complete this project, Comma-Q consulted with Hennebery Eddy Architects of Portland Oregon, Morrison Maierle has for mechanical, electrical, structural and civil engineering expertise and was built by Dick Anderson Construction.
